My ancient little apple tree gets glorious!

I stepped outside this past Sunday to see my little old apple tree decked in in the most astounding full bloom I've seen since '93.  The blooms are nearly 3 inches across and by noon there were hundreds of very happy, very busy bees buzzing through the limbs.
This apple tree is most likely the result of a tossed core from somewhere back in the 20's or 30's when the WPA channelized the river.  The tree is just below the old river bank edge which is nearly 100 feet from the rock channel where it flows today.  The apples are most likely something like a Lodi or Transparent and from the looks of it, we'll have some wonderful apple sauce this season!
