Are We There Yet?

Someone new showed up yesterday at the new store in La Grande.

It's been a major week of accomplishments and little celebrations; the checkerboard floor is gorgeous, the new cabinets are built and the countertops are nearly finished, the wine shelves are complete and I've been opening boxes for the past 2 days.  Lots and Lots of Boxes!
It's like Christmas except for the 2 truckloads of cardboard that went to the recycling plant.

On Friday we had company at BELLA Main Street Market.  Rocky Rachiele, son of 'my' Guido stopped in on his way to Portland with his son.   They found a bottle of the Sangiovese bottled by Charles Smith called Guido and called to say hello (as I was working in La Grande!)  I'm hoping to see them on Monday as they head back to Utah and show them the newest incarnation of the Checkerboard.
The building painting is coming along and we're hoping for less wind today (it was Kansas here yesterday.... all day long!) so that the rest of the base color can be finished.  We're just a week and a half away, I'm not sure I'll get it together for much of a preview party but we will be open on April Fools Day!
